Check out some of the Science activities here that our budding young scientists have been up to for Science Week 2024.
Junior Infants grew Gummy Bears , made Skittle Rainbows, investigated what happened when an orange is placed in water with its skin off and on. They also changed the colour of white flowers to red and green using food colouring and water.
Senior Infants explored how to make Elephant toothpaste and also how to make raisins dance.
First Class made butter and lava lamps. They recorded temperatures, investigated whether objects would float or sink , what seeds need to grow, the effect of germs on our hands and explored the use of magnets.
Second Class also made butter, a phone holder with speakers and discovered how to make sprinkles move using sound waves.
Our Senior classes 3rd, 4th , 5th and 6th all enjoyed a variety of Science Shows in the Source and TUS along with class activities such as making lava lamps, the Egg Drop Challenge and making a paper tower.
